Bill Harloff retired in 2012 with 40 years of teaching experience. He received a Bachelor of Music Education Degree in 1971 and a Master’s Degree in Instrumental Music in 1996. Harloff has developed successful marching and concert programs in Iowa and Indiana. His love for music and steadfast work ethic has influenced countless students of all ages. Harloff has been on the Brass Staff for the Avon Marching Black & Gold in Avon, Indiana since 1999 where his focus is low brass. He is in his third year of teaching high brass with the Rosemount Marching Band in Rosemount, Minnesota. He also teaches music and cleaning drill with the Wildcat Marching Band in Mt. Vernon, Indiana.
He has run numerous races including 10 marathons. His current exercise regimen includes Yoga, biking, and weight lifting. He has been married to his wife Dona for 47 years, is a proud father of Matthew and Benjamin Harloff, and has a precious Shih Tzu named Priss. Mr. Harloff is excited for his fourth year at the 2017 Summer Symposium and looks forward to teaching great kids with an incredible staff.
