Kat Johnson

Kat Johnson has 30 years in public education with 15 years as Director of Bands at Garrett Middle School in the Cobb County (GA) School District. Her experience includes concert, jazz, and marching band, drum corps, colorguard, and winterguard as performer, instructor, director, and adjudicator. Ms. Johnson has directed high school and middle school programs in Louisiana and Alabama as well as other schools in the greater Atlanta area. After graduating from South Natchez-Adams High School in Natchez, Mississippi, she received her Bachelor of Instrumental Music Education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Ms. Johnson is a member of the National Association for Music Education, Georgia Music Educators Association, and the Gulf Coast Judges Association.
