The first day of the leadership weekend came to an end last night but not before we could all dance it out. As campers were leaving their last session they were greeted with music, snacks, and dancing SWAGS. More importantly, they were given a T-Shirt and a sharpie and were all sent out to sign each others shirts. By the end of the night, their bright orange shirts were filled with signatures.
Multiple campers were wearing their shirts from last year during the day. You could tell how much these shirts meant to them by seeing all of the signatures from the year before. They were being greeted by new faces and some familiar faces but everyone was just as excited for each person they talked to.
It was so much fun to see all of the campers, SWAGS, and directors get a huge burst of at the end of a long day. Before coming to camp, I had no idea what to expect. I, myself, have never been to any kind of camp before so I’ve been thinking it would be just like the TV shows and movies I’ve seen. This camp is far from the normal. There is something about the campers, directors, and staff that is making all of the energy and joy infectious.
If the rest of camp has been anything like the last few days, I know it will be the best week for the rest of the campers and staff.
