Bill Harloff retired in 2012 with 40 years of teaching experience. He received a Bachelor of Music Education Degree in 1971 and a Master’s Degree in 1996. Harloff has developed successful marching and concert programs in Iowa and Indiana. His love for music and steadfast work ethic has influenced countless students of all ages. Harloff has been on the Brass Staff for the Avon Marching Black & Gold in Avon, Indiana since 1999 where his focus is low brass. He will soon be starting his fourth year on the Brass Staff for the Rosemount Marching Band in Rosemount, Minnesota where his focus is high brass. He also teaches music and cleaning drill with the Mt. Vernon Wildcat Marching Band in Mt. Vernon, Indiana and teaches elementary music two days a week at Farmersville Elementary in Mt. Vernon, Indiana.He has run numerous races including 10 marathons. His current exercise regimen includes Yoga, biking, and lifting weights. He has been married to his wife Dona for 48 years and is the proud Father of Matthew and Benjamin Harloff. He keeps busy at home with two beautiful year old Shih Tzues, Jazz & Izzy! Mr. Harloff is excited for his fifth year at the 2018 Summer Symposium and looks forward to teaching great students with an incredible staff.
