J.R. Snow serves the Harrisonburg, Virginia community as Fine Arts Coordinator for Harrisonburg City Schools, Director of the Kennedy Center’s Any Given Child Harrisonburg initiative, Director of the Harrisonburg High School Fine Arts Academy, Conductor of the Jazz Ensemble and Pop Acapella Choir at Harrisonburg High School, and Director of Youth Ministries at Asbury United Methodist Church.
In the James Madison University community, J.R. serves as an adjunct professor in the College of Education, a member of the JMU Alumni Association Board of Directors, Director of the Marching Band at the JMU Summer Band Camps, and previously served as an Assistant Director with the Marching Royal Dukes at JMU.
J.R. is the founder of the Snow Leadership Group, a consulting organization focused on educating, motivating, cultivating and celebrating quality leadership. J.R. stays active in music education as a clinician, arranger, and adjudicator in Virginia as he continues his 18th year in music and arts education. J.R. is surrounded at home with love from his wife Kelly, his children Annie (9), Olivia (6), and Jack(3), and his two dogs Murphy and Maddie.
