Lauren Teel is the Adjunct Instructor of Percussion at the University of North Alabama where she teaches applied lessons, directs the University of North Alabama Percussion Ensemble and assists with the “Pride of Dixie” Marching Band. She has been the Percussion Caption Head for the DCI World Class Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps for the last four years and is the newest member of the DoubleStop Percussion Education Team.
As a percussionist, Lauren has had the opportunity to perform world wide, performing as far as Belgium to Chennai, India, where she performed for an audience of over 75,000 people with Oscar winning composer, A.R. Rahman. Lauren also appeared in the 2013 blockbuster, The Hunger Games; Catching Fire, as a timpanist. Lauren earned her B.M in Percussion Performance from the University of North Texas and her M.M in Percussion Performance from Indiana University.
Lauren proudly performs using Innovative Percussion sticks and mallets, Marimba One instruments, and Remo drum heads.
