Music for All and Ball State University are saddened to share that the 2020 Summer Symposium has been canceled to further mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Music for All was scheduled for June 20 – 27, 2020 at Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana.
In consultation with our host and sponsor Ball State University, we determined now is the right time to cancel the 2020 camp to enable families to adjust plans. The safety of our participants and attendees is always the priority for Music for All and Ball State University. The decision to cancel was made with careful consideration of ongoing restrictions of gatherings, state and federal social distancing protocols, and in an abundance of caution for the well-being of all who would be present at the camp.
While it is extremely disappointing to have to cancel this year’s camp, we are living in a world of great uncertainty. Everyone who wants to participate in the Summer Symposium should be able to do so safely and with confidence. Unfortunately, it is not yet clear if June will be the time for that confidence.
We also recognize that the weeks and months leading up to the Summer Symposium may pose challenges for families with campers currently registered or those who were planning to register. We are sensitive to these unprecedented circumstances for all Americans.
Music for All will be in touch with all current campers and student parents regarding the details of their registration. Any questions regarding the cancellation of the camp should be directed to Music for All.
Music for All and Ball State University are looking forward to planning and preparing for the 2021 Summer Symposium.
