Welcome to the 2019 Music for All Summer Symposium, presented by Yamaha! We have a jam-packed week ahead of us. Let’s walk through a few things to make your stay at camp amazing and to prepare you to have the time of your life!

1. Be Ready to Have Fun!
Music has the power to bring out the best in us. Not only will you get to play and perform alongside students from around the country, but you will also get to hear some world-class professional musicians at the nightly concerts. The experiences provided at the Summer Symposium are incredibly unique. Enjoy your time here!

2. Stay Hydrated
Stay in good health! You don’t want to miss out on the fun. Drink plenty of water. Hydration begins BEFORE you get to camp and continues throughout the week. So, bring a water bottle!

3. Keep an Open Mind
Take the time to get to know the people around you. Be open to trying new things! Getting out of your comfort zone will help to create a great camp experience.

4. Embrace the Moment
The Summer Symposium is a camp that provides a wide range of opportunities for a wide range of students. Unwind and unplug from any distractions to enjoy what is happening around you.

5. Be Prepared
The dorms can be a bit chilly! Have no fear, the temperature can be adjusted within each room. Be sure to bring a cozy jacket, socks, or blanket to make you feel more at home.

6. Ask Questions
There are always people around to assist with any concerns that campers may have. SWAGs are a great resource! Feel free to also ask other campers that have attended the Summer Symposium.

7. Be a Sponge
Listen intently! Soak up all of the information that is being given to you so you can share this information with your peers at home.

8. It Goes Beyond Camp
Remember to bring a pencil to take notes in your sessions, and to write down names of your new friends. Remember the faculty who helped you. Connections are everything!

9. Say Thank You
Be thankful for your parents, directors, and any support that got you to camp. Thank the faculty for sharing their knowledge. Know that you always have a home with Music for All.

10. Make it Happen
Now you are ready to go! Enjoy one day at a time. Remember this camp guide as you embark on your journey. Have a great time!
